Harlaxton State School was initially opened in September of 1901 and has educated many fine young minds over its history. It should be of no surprise to know that among our past students we have: Members of State Parliament, Commonwealth Games athletes, servicemen and woman, professionals in a variety of fields including accounting, teaching, policing, engineering, law and medicine, elite nationally known sportsmen and woman, entertainers, radio announcers and many more. The booklet “The Centenary of Harlaxton State School 1901-2001 complied by Bob Harding details the most amazing achievements and gives wonderful insights into being a Harlaxtonian (an honour bestowed only on people that have been educated or worked at Harlaxton School).
The character and charm of our past is intermingled with our current focus on upgraded building designs and improved technology in all areas of the school. The school is fortunate to have numerous well established trees, well maintained sporting ovals, high quality play areas, a tennis court, assembly hall and a swimming pool.
