At Harlaxton we greatly value the contributions of our wider school community (PDF, 109 KB). The physical and financial support we continue to receive from a cross section of individuals, businesses and organisations is amazing. At the heart of this, is the support of our young people in a culture of inclusive education.
P&C Association
The Parents and Citizens Association of any school has a very important part to play in the life of the school.
The P&C aims to:
Foster community interest in educational matters
Bring about closer cooperation between the parents, students, staff and community
Assist in the provision of financial resources for the benefit of the school
The P&C needs:
Anyone over 18 years of age with an interest in education is welcome to apply to join this group at their meeting on the 2nd Monday of each month at 1:30pm in the Conference room (unless otherwise advised by newsletter or on the website). The focus of this group is children's quality education. A blue card's necessary if you volunteer and are not a parent. Be involved! Reports by all Sub-Committees and the Principal are presented at each meeting.
Chaplaincy
The Chaplaincy program complements other support programs offered at the school. It is not a counselling service. Local community support is required for the introduction of a chaplaincy program to a school. More information can be found in the Queensland Government Policy and Procedure Register. All activities and events provided within a chaplaincy program are non-discriminatory and equitably available to students of all beliefs, who choose to participate. Participation is subject to parental approval (PDF, 238 KB).
Chaplains play an important role within their local school. As chaplains to the whole school community, they support students, students' families and staff by building positive relationships.
